Jones Schoonderwoerd leaving

No other details anywhere? That was all I could find too.

Maybe it is time for Cook to recruit outside of the West Coast and/or former Pac players/coaches. IMO coaches who have PRESENT EXPERIENCE would be nice too.

Just noticed Louisville is looking for an assistant. Maybe CC is coming home?

speculation over on VT that this is true (CC coming home). apparently based on some key social media follows, etc

The dunderheads on VT are frothy about the possibility. One of them reported that Kelly Kinney started following CC on Instagram so obviously it's a done deal. We all love CC but some of them over there on VT need to calm down. If it's meant to be it will happen.

Since I don’t have the secret decoder ring, could one of you insiders tell me who CC is?

Thanks!
I haven’t been following the volleyball team for that long, since they started televising more games.
I’m paying attention now though. (y)

Are you getting impatient to see who Minnesota will land in the Transfer Portal? I hope they pull a big rabbit out of the hat but I am pessimistic.

Cobra, glad you started watching the Gophers and thanks for joining our group. There's room on the Gophers bandwagon for everybody.

Hopefully a great asst coach and better recruiter. I wonder if CC was even interviewed?

Spencer Wicken was a great hire by his credentials and I am looking forward to what he can bring to this program for developing our back court players and recruiting. In his Bio, it states he is from New York. His past positions were not real long term (2-3 years something like that). With that said, I am hoping this pattern doesn't continue and he decides to leave the Gopher Program and move closer to home. For now I am looking forward to our passing improving with all the players for our 2026 Season. Here's a huge Gopher welcome to Spencer.

I ask this with all respect, but do people really believe passers can be MADE? That is, that it's just a matter of coaching? Obviously, they can improve SOME with practice and coaching, but I maintain you can either pass or you can't.

But that's me. I could be dead wrong. BUT, if I am, there's a lot of bad coaches out there ...

Agree Ruffda. By the time you are at the collegiate level, either you can or can't pass. It's an instinct and feel motion/process. No amount of coaching can get you to move your arms/body an inch up, down, left, right to make that perfect pass. That all happens in an instant and is a brain to muscle/twitch factor. I like you, don't think that can be coached.

I also don't think there is one correct technique. Trying to teach one correct technique can cause more problems than it solves. Repetition is the key. And reps.

The problem, of course, are reps with a technique that doesn't work.

But, again, I could be dead wrong -- and the age/level of the player is obviously important.

True there isn't much time to think....it's a reaction. It sounds like Spencer played mostly OH, with some experience at Libero. Positioning of our back court, at times, needs help too. Pedro is the middles coach and after that, I do not have any idea what Spencer will be expected to help develop. Also, I believe he is still an Assistant Coach at the Standford Men's Program. If that is true, we will not be seeing him until this Fall.

Remaining questions are:
1 - Does Nellie's title change to GM only opening up another Assistant Coach position?
2 - Does Pedro's title change to 1st Assistant Coach or another hire will see it?
3 - Who is hired for the other open Assistant Coach position...Sanky or CC or ?
