Yes, that's pretty much what Johnson said in the video. I believe this is the last hurrah for eight players on the team.

yup. to paraphrase what Johnson said, when players are in their last year of eligibility, they aren't thinking about NIL or the transfer portal. they are - in theory - more focused on the season and trying to get the most out of their college experience. and as the Coach, he doesn't have to worry about things like, if player X doesn't get the minutes he wants, he might hit the portal after the season.

I mean ok I guess, but by the same token maybe they are thinking about next year. Maybe nba, maybe overseas opportunities, or maybe a transfer knows he's going to be here 1 year and gives up on the year after a few rough games.

You can always find excuses, CBJ isn't good at much, but he is good at making excuses why his teams struggle. I don't need to hear another presser from him spinning anything. Win games, make the tournament or go back to being the 4th assistant somewhere.
