John Nestor named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

Yep

Easy to see this one coming, he had an amazing game against the Badgers. Well deserved!
Woohoo! I was hoping he had another year left after the Wisconsin game. If Koi can get out of his Sophomore slump and get back to the level of play he was displaying his Freshman year, him and Nestor could be a force to recon with in our secondary next year.

In the 18-team Big Ten Conference, only 11 players in the entire conference had more tackles than Koi Perich in Big Ten games. I wouldn't call it a slump. He was pretty good.

He had a great game for us. A big part of why we won. The game conditions fit his abilities.

Gophers instagram claiming he is the first player since at least 1995 to have at least all of the following in a game:
8 tackles
2 TFL
2 int
1 fumble recovery

I've been watching football for decades.

When that game ended you knew he was the MVP and it wasn't even close.

When you go back and watch the game again, you will realize even more than you did the first time, he makes so many plays. On top of the seven or eight massive plays he makes, he makes eight or nine more plays that are so key in stopping a drive or turning the ball carrier back into the inside versus be able to break a big run to the outside. There are just so many things he does perfectly. It might be the best game I have seen when it comes to one player absolutely owning the other team's offense.
