Many dinks including Vitale predicted Temple's famed matchup zone would beat the 1997 Gophers in the second round. Sam Jacobson and Charles Thomas shot the 3 really well that game and we ran away with it.

I remember that like it was yesterday. Think we were up by 30 at the half. We destroyed them. That said, great coach and a great character. Have a friend from Philly area who has been good friends with him for years. Says he was a wonderful, great guy.
