Famed former Temple University men's basketball coach John Chaney passed away at the age of 89 on Friday. Temple confirmed Chaney died after a short illness.

I noticed this earlier today. One heckuva coach, he had the Temple Owls as one damn tough out in college basketball. Hard not to think of him without thinking of the altercation with Coach Cal; "I'm gonna kill you!!!" Not a high point, but that man could coach with the best of them.
