Joe Burrow Says OBJ Cash Was Real

Cocaine can make people a bit manic.

Lock the idiot up for a few days to dry out.

I always thought the idea that a guy who wore a $350000 watch during a game would be carrying around wads of fake money was pretty comical.

I wonder if in a few years he will be selling that watch and a lot of other stuff.

Dude dumb enough to hand out cash like that might not be making great decisions in general with money.

Think of how often you hear stories about pro athletes who end up broke after they get done playing. Lot of guys just don't know how to deal with wealth and prosperity because a lot of them grew up with nothing.

Have heard Larry Fitzerald say that 80% of everything he makes goes into savings and he lives off the remaining 20%. (or something along those lines). With the kind of money today's pro athletes make there really is no excuse for any of them to end up broke but it happens, and way more often then it should.

Now I don't know if OBJ is in that group but it wouldn't shock me if he was based on the image he tries to portray.

An alternate take: If he only handed money to players that had completed their eligibility or intend to declare for the draft the rules do not even apply.
My guess is it would be just as much of a violation as if he had handed it out to them after their first game in the regular season. They were wearing uniforms, and representing the school as student-athletes.

PJ got 50K for bowl win....what did player who played the game get?

A tryout for the NFL. And, many of those players will indeed get hired out their “poverty”.

Then some day in the not so far future they and all the others that have been horribly oppressed can pool money, sell stock shares to the general fan public or moneyed investors that feel similarly, and fund a minor professional league for players directly out of high school (or maybe even 16-17 year olds if physically ready (why not). They can negotiate licensing rights with tv networks, rent space at venues and count the money as it rolls in. It’s just that easy.
