JMU's first season in FBS

In their first season as a FBS team in the Sun Belt conference, JMU got ranked in the top 25 (first every first year FBS team to accomplish this) for a short period of time, went 8-3 (6-2 in conference), ended the season beating #23 Coastal Carolina 47-7, and would have been in the Sunbelt Conference Championship and a bowl game if not for the 2 year transition period when moving into FBS.

Amazing first year.

Why is this a thread on Gopherhole???

As opposed to the threads on NDSU and SDSU, the DII and DIII championships, etc, etc, etc? Surely you posted this same comment on those, right?

James Madison university. Used to be FCS, moved up to FBS this year and did really good all things considered.

Just thought it was an interesting story for a team that moved up to do well so quickly.
