Jim Harbaugh Accepts His Suspension

so now the NCAA allegedly has evidence that a Michigan Booster - identified as "Uncle T," helped finance Stallions' illegal scouting operation. and that a Michigan assistant coach - assumed to be the LB coach who just got fired - destroyed computer records to help cover up the operation.

supposedly, once the NCAA let Michigan know what evidence they already had, that is when Harbaugh quit trying to fight the 3-game suspension.

I'll bet you even money that Harbaugh's agent is calling NFL teams right now looking for Jim's next job - because he ain't gonna be coaching at Michigan, or any other college.

Why are we maintaining two threads? Would be great if mods can merge

Regardless, 3 game suspension for basically admitting to cheating is weak, very weak.

that's just the B1G suspension. the NCAA is conducting its own investigation and may choose to administer its own punishment. given the information that is coming out, I think that a 3-game suspension for the head coach is the least of Michigan's worries. the question is how long it takes for the NCAA to reach a decision - which could be after the CFP playoff games.

I dispute that having the signs isn't a big help. But it also doesn't matter. Whether the rule is stupid or how big of an advantage breaking the rule is shouldn't matter. What matters is that it was broken. If Michigan doesn't think it was a big help, why would they risk getting caught up in a scandal like this to secretly going around the country doing it?
Dummy signalers, fast paced offenses, and not having enough time to actual communicate to the defense what the O play is makes knowing signals not that important. With transfers going everywhere now a days some kids already know the other teams signals and calls. Lastly, audibles/ checking into plays at the LOS.

Yep. This being a non-issue in the NFL means that this is only a thing because college football is so far behind in rules and technology. Kinda pathetic, when you consider how much money the big programs in CFB generate.

Ohio State cooked up a fake "scandal". That's what this is, quite frankly.

Mich/Harbaugh haters pounced on the excuse to spew massively trumped-up outrage.

Yes, ohio state is probably upset because they are no longer the top dog, every team tries to steal signs
Rutgers was probably the most vocal about it but I think I heard ten big ten teams complained to the conference about it.

once again - stealing signs is not against the rules.

But in-person scouting of future opponents is against the rules.
and using electronic devices to record the opponent's sideline is against the rules.

those are rules. they are written down in black and white. every team in the conference is supposed to understand and abide by those rules.

when rules are broken - and there is clear evidence that rules were broken - then punishment is warranted.

if you think "it's a stupid rule" is a defense, then try that in court the next time you get a speeding ticket or a DWI.

Getting a DWI or speeding ticket would require Mpls to actually turn off his computer and leave his house, so that’s not happening

More fun. Michigan's LB Coach Chris Partridge has been fired. "No reason given!" But ESPN "sources" report that the firing was based in part on information gathered during NCAA interviews involving the illegal scouting allegations.

Outlets are reporting that another member of the coaching staff deleted his Twitter account yesterday.

will there be any coaches left by the end of the regular season?
Looks like PJ may get a chance as a head coach in Michigan yet again. 😏
