Jerry Kill the new coach with momentum?

The fact that 8 members of his staff have been with him a long time is good

We could use a coach with a good coaching staff that has some continuity together. Coach Kill is
a good football coach and NIU dominated Toledo. They Toledo had a lot of young guy's but NIU really took it to Toledo and Toledo was not a bad squad. I would think Kill would warrant some consideration.

Killy Becky!
Kill Iowee!
Kill the damn BuckNuts and Cornshuckers!

I just really like that name. Jerry Kill. Jerry- Kill! What a great name for a coach. ;)

This guy is a very good coach and has a loyal staff. Is health still an issue? I would prefer him over Hoke but would give Sumlin the nod over Kill. We should just hire Leach and drive Wisky and Iowas crazy. He gives me the most confidence that we will win right away (Leach that is).

Kill's teams play Big10 teams pretty much to the max

They were right there with Illinois this year and Illinois get's the pick of the litter in that state.
NIU trounced the Gophers and they did it with players that probably did not get a sniff from the Gophers. This means he has found guy's in Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota that everyone else overlooked and not only get's the max out of there talents they coach up players.
He is one ugly dude and a bald head looking geek, but what he does is win football games. We have had our fill of BS'rs like Wacker, Brewster, and Salem. We need substance, WINNING, and that running game. They sure seem to have a knack finding backs. Maybe this is the kill shot we need. Coordinators have been with him for 10 years, that is a lot of experience. Yes the guy look's like a doomer, but he wins.

Ed Zachary. Could you imagine the whole crowd chanting "KILL. KILL. KILL. KILL" after a TD? It would be like something out of 1984 or Beyond Thunderdome.

Hell yes. Kill, Kill, Kill 'em all!

There is no such thing as "momentum"
There is momentum of media speculation, but that is completely unrelated to any actual coaching search.

I agree with most of this post except, 1) I don't think he's (Kill) all that ugly (normal looking person IMHO), 2) I don't think that Salem was a BS'er.

Coach Kill is very intriguing. He has done very well with his three head coaching jobs and has NIU at 8-2 in his third year. Plus NIU ranks well in both offense and defense categories.

IMO, he is a notch above others such as Sumlin and Hoke. Coach Kill has shown he has the ability to take lesser programs to a high level of success. That is impressive.

He might be the best coach on the board. He won't fire up the masses (initially) but I think he would win which does fire up the masses.

He definitely seems intriguing, that's for sure. He certainly would not be the 'sexy' big name hire, but who cares? If the guy can coach (and it does appear he can) and has shown an ability to drastically turn around bottom-feeding programs (ditto), then those are the relevant points. Although maybe not initially giddy over his hiring, we'd come to love and adore him at Minnesota if he were able to do those things here.
