I believe DL65 has a family obligation today, so I am volunteering to post a summary of Kill's appearance on the Sports Huddle.

Kill only did a 5-minute segment (calling from practice).

Question: any surprises so far? Kill: not really. The freshman are further along than expected, allowing us to move practice along quicker. Getting a lot accomplished.

Question: Is the team in their best shape ever? Kill: Players have worked hard. Thinks they are mentally in good shape - no messing around, good focus, not making mental errors. Very serious attitude.

Question: (Sid) Who will replace Vereen and Hageman? Kill: We are very deep in secondary - as good as anyone in the B1G. Brock was a great athlete (playing in NFL), but we have other players who will have that same opportunity. (going pro).
(note- did not talk about who would replace Hageman)

Question: Injury to Duke A? Kill: Not going to comment, he is still contacting family members. Not Good! (kill's words)

Question: (Dave Mona) Looking at redshirts and true freshmen, will you consider position changes to get them on the field sooner? Kill: Haven't moved anyone yet. (then shifted into talking about talent among newcomers) 3 TE very Talented, 2 LB very talented, CB very talented, WR group very talented. Mentally will be the big challenge.

Question (Sid): What position is having the biggest battle? Kill: Great competition at every position. Mentioned Secondary again. Every position is an open competition. Every player on the team has a chance to contribute.

That's all folks.

Thanks for filling in for DL. Busy time for Coach Kill and staff.

Thanks S.O.N. Good to know that we also have depth at the GH!

Go Gophers!

Good job Norsky! I have now been demoted to string.

Thanks son. The change in Kill's description of the team over the years is telling. The first two years were pretty somber with a lot of we have a long way to go. Last year was the first we saw some optimism. He sounds ready to after all the big fish this year.

Thanks for the update. Reading the Strib today, the injury to Anyyanwu sounds very bad indeed. Hard hearing Kill confirm that. Poor kid has already tore a ligament in his knee (2012) and broke his forearm (2013).

You can always depend on a Norwegian. Thanks for the update! Sad to hear about Duke, he sounds like a first class kid.

To be short and ornery? There are notable exceptions!

Really hurt for Duke. He would have seen a lot of playing time too.

Thanks Ornery Norske. You saved the day!

Jerry Kill said it will take three to four years to turn the ship around.

That time is here!

You may be short

and you may be ornery

BUT Damn, son, you made my day. As a German, I salute you and apologize for WWII

The Germans only burned down the Northern half of Norway as they were retreating from it. I believe there excuse was they didn't want the Russians to follow them.

The Germans left Norway because they found out it was a trap. There were two of them.

Ivan Maisel did a pretty good interview on ESPN college football podcast. Available on ESPN radio app. It's part of his Big Ten media day 1 podcast if anyone is interested.

Just got thru listening to Sid's sports show from this a.m. I'm wondering, if I buy one of those hearing aids that Sid brags about, do I get Dave Mona to follow me around and repeat everything that is said to me? I know this guy is a legend but it is getting embarrassing now. He announced that Kevin Love has bad knees so he may have queered the trade. He will never criticize a sitting manager or coach. He even defended Gutey of all people (12 men on the field, 10 men on the field Gutey). It is time to pull the plug, 'CCO. And don't bring in Max to replace him...please.
