So today new Illini coach John Groce said he's not going to retain Jerrance Howard moving forward.

Assuming there truly is movement on the staff, he's a guy Tubby should try to hire. He likes to recruit, he's good at it, he's young and he has good Midwest ties.

I can't imagine he'll say on the job market for too long.

The only possible drawback is that he might be best served in the "Saul" role as the young assistant of the 3 on staff. We know Saul is not leaving so would a young assistant replacing a veteran like Jirsa or Taylor be a good move?
