Jefferson is Gone

Anyone panicking or cashing in their chips at this point doesn't understand college sports. This is how it works now. There are dozens of programs with long-time coaches with almost no returning players on their current roster. A new incoming coach is obviously going to have a thin roster at this point (and much by design).

This will take weeks to months to finalize the Gopher 2025-26 roster. The new guy has been on the job for basically 4 days.

Buckle in and lets see where the ride goes.
This is 100% correct.

That said -- and maybe this was flat out never on the table -- in a fantasy world it would've been nice for Niko to bring Farokhmanesh with him and also whichever of the best CSU would have come with them but now are going to stay in FoCo with Ali.

Even with Ali becoming Head Coach, I expect (similar to the slow dissolution of our incoming class) that the CSU sophomores and Minnesota freshman will likely slowly make there way onto our radar. Just takes time. Then use that to figure out what else the roster needs!

This one sucks.....he looks like he has a lot of talent and can really shoot or a big man. I'm surprised he changed his mind with Niko retaining Thorson (who I assume was his lead recruiter).

This source makes it sound like it was more Niko's decision than Parker's

CSU's best available player entered the portal today.

LOL.
SPIN!!

LOL.

The second Ben Johnson was fired this kid was not coming to Minnesota. So, if you're really going to give one second of worry about the kid not coming here, then you should have been hoping for Ben Johnson to stay. I know you weren't interested in that (nor was I).

Let's see what the new head coach does to replace the old roster and the old recruits of the old head coach before we start spitting nonsense about "SPIN." Why waste any time worrying about it?

Somebody's triggered.

BFD. If the new regime can get the NIL money like expected to compete in the B1G. Giving out scholarships to HS players will be rare occurrence these first few years. You only invest that time on a player if you are really excited about them. HS players will only get limited playing time and need to be babysat to keep them from jumping ship. In order to be competitive, Niko mostly likely will be buying players until he develops a B1G track record. If Niko is not sold on a Ben recruit, there is no reason to waste the time trying to convince them to stay at the U.
