Jeff Dubay was back at it - loving up Mason

What a sad existence.

Come on maximus...lighten up a little bit. Are you for real?
Here is hoping that Coach Kill leads us on the BEST run this Gopher Football Program has ever seen. Isn't that what you are hoping for maximus??? Isn't that what we are all hoping for? You and that one other guy are trying too hard...

Glen Mason=Denny Green. Supreme evaluator of offensive talent. Morons when it comes to defense and gameplanning. Egos far too big for the pants they're walking around in.

This morning Dubay sounded like a petulant kid ripping Glen Mason's critics. Claiming if only Mason had a chance to coach in the new stadium he would have taken the program to new heights.

Problem is his natural recruiting footprint would not have changed, his somewhat lazy recruiting practices would not have changed, and his terrible public persona would not have changed.

His B10 winning % is worse than Tubby's - a guy Dubay called a "loser" because of his lack of conference success.

Mason - .400
Tubby - .426

Admittedly different sports and Tubby should have been much better, however he also had to deal with poor facilities (which is one of Dubay's excuses for Mase).

Mason was 2 wins 30 losses vs. teams that finished in the AP Top 25 over his 10 years at MN...by the most generous standards that is flat out awful

1-7 vs. tOSU
1-7 vs. MI
1-7 vs. Purdue
2-8 vs. WI
4-6 vs. Iowa
3-5 vs. PSU
Losing record (3-4) in 3rd tier bowls

Take away the non-conference wins and there isn't much there there

Case closed!

That's pretty "ballsey"(Anybody see the billboard for Dubay and his side-kick?) to provide the contrast needed to keep the Mason hatred by some on this board in full force and in high gear. You know, people might forget just how much some people around here dislike Mason if people like Dubay didn't say some positive things about Mason and remind people that for as mid-level as Mason's success was here....the administrators of the University of Minnesota have failed to hire very many football coaches who have done significantly better and many of the coaches have done significantly worse.

So: hat's off to Dubay. He got the juices of the vengeful flowing over in this direction going pretty darn well with his little radio show. Besides that, this is such a boring time of the year...the crowd formerly know as brew-crew need something to get them going...

I think that Dubay's power over some here is pretty darn funny...People need to develop a little sense of humor....and not work themselves into such a lather over what some of you keep trying to say was such a great move...you know the significance of that brew-ball experiment that marked the end of the Mason decade becomes more apparent all the time. Yes, that was a truly magnificent moment in Golden Gopher Football History. I guess we showed Big Ten Football Country what we are made of when we ditched Mason and unleashed brew-ball on them all...
