It has not been a fun last three weeks at the U. As a poster said, lots of negativity.
For me, this is the biggest game of the year so far with lots of implications.
1. Stop a 3 game losing streak
2. A huge stepping stone to a bowl game
3. Nelson's first start at TCF
4. A win would shut up the media, especially the UNC issue.
5. 2:30 game. The students have been great! We need them again
in full force.
6. Weather cold, but sunny. No Sunday Vikings. Maybe we get some
walkups.
For me and family, I will be cheering extra loud in this one. We really need it guys
Beat the Boiler's!!

I only get to two or three games a year (at this point), but I will be there Saturday! The tickets I was able to get are the best I've had to date so I'm pretty excited! Next year, if all goes as planned, I'll be a season ticket holder. I think I finally have my wife convinced! :D

nice work! that is usually the hardest part of the equation. i.e. getting the wife or girlfriend to agree on spending the money for the season tickets. congrats and hope it comes though for you. we can use more great fans like you guys for the long-term. we are building this thing back up to where it used to be brick by brick. and part of that rebuilding will require the commitment of gopher football fans (new and old alike) buying season tickets as well.

supadupa wears the pants in the family. (His wife just tells him which pair to put on)

I predict another poor showing. In fact, I think the next few games may be the worst ever at TCF.

I think it's going to be a pretty poor turnout. There's some intrigue with Nelson, but I don't see the fringe fans coming out in 40-degree weather to watch a winless Big Ten team.

I will be there! I am excited to hopefully see Phillip lead us to our first B1G Ten win this year!

We are not a winless Big Ten team, we are a 4-3 Big Ten team who lost their first 3 Big Ten games, 2 of which were road rivalry games. We have had many injuries, should have beaten NW and have a decent shot at Purdue. Why wouldn't you go? This season is not lost yet, we can still get to a bowl and you get to watch the future develop.

Sorry, poor phrasing on my part. I'm going, I'm saying that the "fans" who filled up the Bank and bought the cheap tickets for Syracuse won't be coming out for this one. Hope I'm wrong, but I'd guess attendance will be well below 45K (announced).

Well, I guess one positive of this could be shorter beer lines for those of us who attend. Right?! :)

Seriously though, I have 4 season tickets and am bringing 3 friends with me to the game. Hoping I can make them into bigger followers of Gopher Football with a great gameday experience and a Gopher victory! :D

I'll be there! A Gopher win would overcome the bad taste left over from Iowa game that I attended.

Go Gophers!!

Should have beat NW? At what point in that game did you think they were going to win?

I think that we could have beaten NW by eliminating some very sloppy unforced errors. Obviously there is no way to prove that, but I bet if we fumbled 1 time instead of 7, we probably would have beaten NW. I didn't feel NW beat us, I feel like we beat ourselves, and a game where you beat yourself is basically my definition of a game that should be won.

I will be there. But it will be really hard to stay for the whole thing if we are getting pounded like last year against these guys.

The good thing is Purdue's rush defense and rush offense has been worse than ours overall and in the Big Ten so far.

This would be a good time to bring our A game. If we aren't good enough to beat Purdue at home, I struggle to see where our other 2 wins would come from to get us to a bowl game.

Why don't you just stay home? I am sorry about that but I just have a low tolerance for whiners. I have always been partial to people who have a positive attitude and actually do things to make things better. By staying home you might make things better for yourself.

I think it is expecting too much of fair weather Gopher fans to attend a late October afternoon game when the temperature is going to be a bone chilling 40 degrees or so, because they haven't put away the tank tops and dug out the ice fishing clothing yet.

No, they'll have more than that in the house. Though I'm sure they'll be people that say less than that. :)

Honestly, if the weather is clear and sunny, they'll be people in the stands. I'd even say that there's enough interest in Nelson alone to get it up past that in the stands.

This wouldn't be a problem if you kept all that cold air from coming in from the Dakotas! We have enough to do in trying to stop the Canadians.

I don't think you saw the Illinois game last year....

I was at the Illinois game and I was also at the Iowa game two years ago. I've been trying to give away 4 extra tickets to the game on Saturday and cannot find any takers. People have better things to do than watch the lowly Gophers and this attitude continues to get worse with every Big Ten loss. Not my opinion, but the opinion of many. Throw in the UNC debacle and many fair weather fans or even sports fans in general have no desire to watch this team play, let alone in 40 degree weather. Sad but true.

Killjoy, I am trying my best to keep that damned cold Dakota air from getting beyond Moorhead. I am doing my little bit. If everyone would do the little I am doing, a lot can be done. But I assure you, Killjoy, my little chain link fence surrounding my back yard does not make for much of a windbreak, but remember, every little bit helps. :)

GopherSports says a big deal for tickets is coming at 7pm. Sorry Season Ticket Holders, prepare to have your package devalued even more! ;)

GopherSports: Looking for a good deal on @GopherHockey & @GopherFootball tickets? We've got a doozie posting on Facebook starting at 7pm! #Gophers (9 minutes ago from TweetDeck)

If you went outside and stood by your chain link fence that would help even more.
