This article is from way back when. It looks like Mason and company recruited him pretty hard. It's also interesting that he was 220 pounds when he committed to Baylor, and now is 310.

Dallas (Texas) White offensive lineman Jason Smith announced his decision to attend Baylor last week. Did an official visit to the Big 12 South school have any affect to his decision?
“It was nice at Baylor,” the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Smith said. “I really enjoyed it. It was everything I had in mind.
“It solidified my commitment to the school. I had no doubts about choosing Baylor before the visit. And I have even less than that now. It’s just the right school for me.”
Smith was accompanied on the visit with his high school teammate Micah Howeth.
“We were the only two guys there on official visits,” Smith said. “We had a good time.”
Despite his pledge to Guy Morriss’ team Smith has been taking a few calls from schools.
“Kansas and Minnesota have been calling very consistently,” he said. “But, I’m not looking around at all. I’m solid with my choice.”
