I liked Burns as a recruit, it's just difficult to see guaranteed PT even in two years. Maybe this is just how college football is going to be now, if you don't have an absolute CLEAR path to PT for your junior year, you transfer. It's part of the the reason why I think the portal might work to our benefit. The guys in this position at the blue blood programs will probably transfer to schools like Minnesota.

SMU is a nice landing spot for him. He is fast and they play good FB.

I actually thought he loss PT to Ruschmeyer and JMS. He was pushed out of the top 7 OL and he was starting to lose reps to Boe (they were 7a and 7b).

I think he probably is a starter for the U in 2022 if he had stayed, but he wouldn't have been a 100% lock. Ruschmeyer and JMS are absolute locks. I think it would have been a training camp battle between Dunlap and Boe.
