-- Nebraska (NET #11) extended its nation-best winning streak to 18 games with a 58-56 rock-fight win over Michigan State. The Cornhuskers are 14-0 after finishing last season with four straight wins to win the inaugural College Basketball Crown. Perhaps performing well at The Crown is an indicator of success the following season? 2025 Crown runner-up UCF (NET #39) currently is 11-1 and gets Kansas at home this afternoon.
-- Notre Dame got robbed at the end of its 72-71 loss @ Cal. Up 71-68 late, the Irish decided to foul instead of letting the Bears get off a potential game-tying three-pointer. The foul clearly took place before Cal's Dai Dai Ames started his shooting motion. The shot went in. The referee initially ruled it an “and one” but then overturned the call, ruling the foul happened before the shot. But the call was overturned a second time, sending Ames to the free throw, where he made what turned out to be the deciding point with 2.4 seconds left. After the game ended, Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry charged toward the referee that awarded the four-point play and was restrained by Irish players and coaches.

Feels like a good day for the road teams in the Big Ten. Can UCLA (@ Iowa) and Minnesota (@ Northwestern) pull off upsets, while Illinois (@ Penn State) and Purdue (@ Wisconsin) win, as expected? I say the roadies get at least 3 of the 4.
