Dribbles & Scribbles
-- Big Ten co-leaders #3 Michigan and #9 Michigan State both survived games as double-digit favorites where they trailed most of the game. The Wolverines (19-1, 9-1 Big Ten) knocked off previously unbeaten Nebraska (20-1, 9-1 Big Ten) 75-72 behind 17 points and 12 rebounds from Morez Johnson Jr., while the Spartans (19-2, 9-1 Big Ten) used a late Divine Ugochukwu three-pointer to get to overtime and eventually pull away from Rutgers, 88-79. Spartans point guard Jeremy Fears Jr, took over the game in the last five minutes of regulation, finishing with 29 points and nine assists while going 16-of-17 from the free-throw line. The bitter rivals will play for the Big Ten lead Friday in East Lansing.
-- #33 Indiana got the much-needed Quad 1 win missing from its resume, defeating arch-rival Purdue 72-67 in Bloomington behind 19 points and seven rebounds from Lamar Wilkerson. The #11 Boilermakers, losers of three straight, were led by Trey Kaufman Renn's 23 points.
-- Bubblicious movement: #27 NC State moves above the bubble with an easy win over Syracuse, while #69 Creighton drops out of the conversation after getting torched by a bad Marquette team in Milwaukee.
-- Wednesday's only bubble vs. bubble matchup is #71 Stanford (14-6, 3-4 ACC) @ #36 Miami-Florida (16-4, 5-2 ACC). Stanford likely will fall out of NCAA tourney contention after a season-ending injury to forward Chisom Okpara (13.9 ppg, 3.9 rpg) but for now remain on the Bubblicious board.

Deep Thoughts, by Buzz Studley
If the Big Ten Tournament started today, the #3 seed (Michigan State) would be the final team to appear (last quarterfinal) with 13 teams having already been eliminated.
The moral of the story?
If you're the #3 seed, you'll be one of the final five teams still standing late Friday night.
