Dribbles & Scribbles
-- Summit League bell cows South Dakota State (2-1) and North Dakota State (4-0) meet in Fargo tonight. It is the first of three key showdowns this week to establish the early leader at the quarter point of the league season. On Thursday St. Thomas (3-0) visits Grand Forks to take on North Dakota (3-1), then goes to Fargo on Saturday to battle the Bison.

-- Wisconsin moved off the bubble with a 78-75 win over Minnesota on a John Blackwell buzzer-beating three-pointer. The Badgers have their mojo back after consecutive wins over UCLA, previously undefeated Michigan, and the plucky, but undermanned Gophers.

-- It was a rough night on the bubble for the Oklahoma schools. Oklahoma was routed at home by Florida 96-79, while Oklahoma State also took a big digger at home, falling to fellow bubbler Baylor 94-79.

-- We have bubbler on bubbler crime tonight with Kentucky @ LSU. The Wildcats haven't won a true road game (0-2), and the Tigers have lost three straight.

Deep Thoughts, by Buzz Studley
Villanova head coach Kevin Willard takes a lot of grief from college basketball "insiders" and fans, but from what I’ve seen he’s been a good coach everywhere (Iona, Seton Hall, Maryland) he’s been.

Hoping to get ‘em both, but if it is a split, get the NDSU game.

I’m looking at it this way. Win the next 3 and they become the clear favorite. Everyone would be at least 2 games back in the loss column except for NDSU, but UST would have early edge on head to head.

Still think best path to championship game is SDSU/NDSU on opposite of bracket, though DU still concerns me despite rough league start.
