Jamison Battle had 12 points and 6 rebounds…in the NBA

Good for Battle. Makes tonight’s game more interesting.
He also played 16 minutes in their opener. 6 points and 2 rebounds.

3:07. Sounds like he is finally learning the team concept wasn’t just bs in college.

Only importance is whether Toronto was plus or minus when Jameson was in the game.

In regards to plus/minus, Saturday against the Nuggets, Amir Coffey played nearly 24 minutes. Was 0-5 shooting, including 0-3 from behind the arc. Had 2 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a foul. His plus/minus for the game was +22, by far the highest on the team.

Last night against the Warriors, he scored 8 points in 19+ minutes. Efficient 3-5 from the floor, made his only 3. Made 1-2 from Free Throw line. 3 Rebounds and a foul.. His plus/minus was 0.

Battle can shoot. and if you can shoot, somebody in the NBA will take a chance on you. (cue ABBA).

It's a 3-point shooting league, and Battle is a 3-point shooter. right skill set at the right time.

NBA 3-point attempts per game
1999–2000
: 13.7 attempts per game
2009–2010: 18.1 attempts per game
2019–2020: 34.1 attempts per game
2021–2022: 35.2 attempts per game
2023-2024: 36.7 attempts per game

so far this season, the Celtics are scoring 54% of their points on 3-pointers. 56% of their total FG attempts are 3-pointers.

Happy for him. The fact that we won 2 B1G games with him, Garcia and Cooper as starters is criminal.

I wish him well. He's a very good shooter with really good range and he could stick around for a bit (or maybe longer) at the NBA level. I understand why he moved on from the U and it was probably the right move for him.

Fat Cooper wasn't great.

He avg 10, 4 and 4 on 48%, 46%, 72% shooting splits, starting 34 games on a top 25 team last year. Battle and Cooper were so much better after leaving. If Cooper wasn't great as a Gopher that says more about the coaching than the ability.

He looked 15 pounds lighter last season

Well the staff needs to do a better job then of getting him shape or hold him accountable. South Carolina's coach was able to.
Or maybe he decided on his own that he needed to make a change. You have no idea how it came about and neither do I, but blaming our coach for not having him lose 15 is ridiculous.

Yeah, maybe. Either way, Battle and Cooper were significantly better after leaving. Why were the other coaches able to get the best out of them and ours weren't?

It's so strange how players get better as they get older and play more.

Well, I'd say Battle was better his first year here than his second, so there goes that. And from an efficiency standpoint, Cooper was better his last year at Morehead State than he was his first year here. Then both were great last year on new teams.

Cooper was more efficient in the Ohio Valley conference than the Big Ten? How could that be?
