I’ve lived in Chicago for 20 years now and one thing is clear: Chicago winters are NOTHING like Minnesota winters. Much more mild and a heck of a lot less snow.

I lived in Ames, IA for 3 years (only a degree or two colder average winter temps than Chicago). Those were the most miserable winters in my life (I grew up just East of Minneapolis). The entire winter was 35 degrees and damp. Give me 20 degrees and dry any day.
