As CRG mentioned, we did the same thing with J. Johnson and JD Pride. We were also Da'Jon McKnight's only BCS offer (his only other offer was LaTech) in order to encourage Cooper, Reeves and Stoudermire to head north. This happens all the time.

Pretty ironic too, consider McKnight might have been the best of that bunch.

Alex Mayes being Connor Mayes' brother probably didn't hurt either. Their offer lists are almost identical. Ditto with Kyle and Luke McAvoy (Kyle was the more heavily pursued of the two).

I have no problems with offering a guy's buddy to entice him to come here, but when that player demands you take his less talented friend that rubs me the wrong way, especially when he does it in the public eye.
