Well yeah im sure they do get looked at more nationally, but it also seems like they go a lot more often than other kids around the state. Just look at all the players from the past, I'm not saying they should all stay by any means because you cant pass up some opportunities like they get. It just sucks because Mason really screwed the U over with in state recruiting and we are now trying to recover. Brewster is doing a better job however, even though I dislike him as a human being

Serious. I didnt follow the gophers to much last year cuz I went to SIU, but now I am trying to follow them more and get to know the players better and all. I followed gopher basketball way more the gopher football.

I agree with that as well, cretin does have something against staying home, but i have no idea how we let nate swift and lydon murtha get away

I graduated from Cretin during the Brewster era and had a lot of friends who played D1 football (also have stayed pretty close to the CDH football team (buddy coaches there now)). I will tell you that under the Mason era, there was a bad relationship between Cretin and the U. It wasn't that Cretin players thought they were too good for the U, it was because of the haphazard way in which the Mason staff recruited local kids. You have to remember that the Cretin staff is experienced with the recruiting process (more so than any other team in state) and they know when things are being done right.

From what I understand, that relationship is fixed. Henderson and Floyd picked other schools, but it wasn't because they hated the U. Furthermore, they kept the U in their final consideration as respect for the U (something that players like Ryan Harris didn't seriously do).

Also keep in mind that the U has a lot of kids from Cretin (probably from Cretin more than anyother highschool) in the last few years....
