Here's the press release from the U:
Gophers Add Diedhiou, Lukeshewich to Roster
Head men’s basketball coach Richard Pitino announced Thursday that freshman Gaston Diedhiou (Dakar, Senegal/Canarias Academy) has been admitted to the University of Minnesota and, effective immediately, has been added to the Golden Gophers roster.
Diedhiou (pronounced Gas-TONE JAY-joo), a 6-9 forward, has joined the team and is eligible to practice and compete right away, including Friday night’s game against Seattle University.
Additionally, Pitino announced that freshman Mike Lukashewich (Appleton, Wisc./Appleton North HS) has been added to the roster. Lukashewich, a 6-3, 180-pound walk-on guard, will also be able to practice and play immediately.
The Gophers return to action on Friday evening hosting the Redhawks at 7 p.m. at Williams Arena.

Wow, I've been saying Deedoo in my head this whole time. Gonna be hard to get that in my mind.
I hope in 4 years we are recruiting freshman that would have a better ceiling and our recruits that are being brought in will be eating up those minutes. His run will be 4 years.I may be in the minority, but I would like to see them red-shirt him this season. Being a raw talent, would an extra year of development trump what he could offer us this year, especially starting from scratch this late in the season?
Iron 9!!!

He's already 20 and we are thin up front. He's going to play this season.I may be in the minority, but I would like to see them red-shirt him this season. Iron 9!!!
Tomorrow night: 22 and 12
GW (aka Goofy Gopher) will just say that Pitino's stance changed after the player availability issues in the fall. Hell, I would do the same thing if I were regularly trolling on a board of a team that I wasn't a fan of and the administrators didn't ban me on that basis
Woah woah woah...As the official Goofy Gopher I would like to formally denounce your claims that I am GW. I am merely a Gopher graduate, physical therapist, and beer drinker who doesn't believe in conspiracy theories. I am also glad Gaston got into school so now we can use "Beauty and the Beast" metaphors when appropriate.
