Why would we wait until Dec 7 to hire Belotti?

I'm going to take the chicken(bleep) route and offer 3 guesses.....all of different senarios.

I wonder if there is no hire made until after the season...that we are hiring an existing coach.

Maybe not...as we might have to wait to be turned down by say Patterson (again) and go to plan B. Belotti or someone like that.
