Is Duluth ready for Decembrrr football?

Yeah, I loved watching the Pitt vs Cincy (?) game last Saturday. Snowed like a banshee the whole game. But I think the temp was about 32F.
But I stayed dry and warm in my living room. (A Mascot got booted for throwing snowballs...imagine that).

"Slip slidin away..."

Should be a really good home field advantage for UMD. I realize Missouri isn't all that far south but the psychology of having to go to Duluth in December for an outdoor playoff game has to be terrifying for anyone south of, say, Rochester.

I'll be pulling for the 'Dogs.

I bleed Maroon and Gold Bulldog-style. Go Dogs!

If Duluth ever were to be bumped up to D1, I would have a serious dilemma when it came to picking my favorite D1 school/team. I grew up in Superior, WI, and since UW-Superior didn't have a football team, I ended up following the Dogs pretty closely. Even had more than a handful of HS teammates play for 'em. If I were smart enough in HS to care about going to college, I would have played for 'em.

I, like Go4Broke, bleed Bulldog Maroon and Gold.

I wish our state's main Big Ten campus was in Duluth instead of the Twin Cities. That would be so much better.

Free hot cocoa

Will be there, free hot chocolate for all at the game. I'm dressing in lots of layers and with the free hot chocolate just will bring the flask of peppermint or butterscotch schnapps to flavor it up!

For anyone excited about watching this game in the snow; don't be it has hardly snowed up here today. Its going to be cold and windy but this storm has spared Duluth.

No snow but current temp is 9F and with the wind it's going to feel like a bazillion degrees below zero. Dante's EXFerno?

Wonder what kind of cleats they wear on frozen grass....cramp-ons or clamp-ons (or whatever those mountain spikes).

I'm going to be watching the benches to see if there is any movement of the players....if not, I'll call 911.

Fieldturf or the like at Meloski Stadium in Duluth. Talked to the guy in charge of the field this week and he said removing snow from those fields is a nightmare. They cannot be swept because it removes the rubber. They have been using ice melt but even that has been hit or miss, especially in this kind of cold.

Spray it with water and put skates on!! The Mich-MS hockey game on TV had a starting temp of 38F, a lot warmer than Duluth!
