This kid is unbelievable. If he plays well on the road at Ohio State next week I’m ready to make the claim in my title!

From a raw talent perspective I would say Lindsay is as accurate with a better arm. From a cerebral standpoint, he has a ways to go to catch (pre) Dr. Brosmer. I do like his pre-snap recognition a lot already though.

Would agree with everything you said. And while he is somewhat mobile (the scramble/rollout throw to Tracy for 27 yards was my favorite completion today), he is not a runner at all - in fact I think he actually has run avoidance. It would be nice to at least be able to freeze some linebackers with the potential of a qb scramble.

For as good as Brosmer was he couldn’t hit a deep ball to save his life. Lindsey overshot a few today, but he’s probably already connected on more this year than Brosmer did last year.

yeah, in terms of arm talent Drake clearly has a bigger arm than Max and his upside is off the charts.

He isn't better than Max today but it might not take him all that long to get there because of what he was clearly able to learn from Max last season.

Have said it before, the QB situation last year was perfect. A really smart experienced starter with one year left, and a true freshman who wasn't a threat to him at all. Max and Drake formed a great relationship and there was no reason for Max not to help Drake get better.

No. He has more raw talent and probably a higher ceiling than Max, but I don't believe Drake as he sits today would make an NFL roster.

Could be this Saturday...

I think Brosmer is better as of now. Ask again in a year and I might give a different answer. Drake makes some great plays and throws.

I would take Drake over Brosmer based on potential for sure, and think he has more raw talent by a significant margin.

Arm talent wise, Drake may be the best QB in the recent history of the program. Since at least the move back to campus. Maybe ever.

I think the biggest hole in Drake's game at the moment is his (lack of) running threat. He's always going to be a pocket passer but he needs to develop that skill to run sneaks at a high percentage, roll out occasionally, and slip through the line for small gains when things break down.
