If you sell tickets on StubHub and realize more than $600 in a year, you have to file with the IRS via StubHub.
Is that self reporting? If you sell tickets on StubHub and realize more than $600 in a year, you have to file with the IRS via StubHub.
Scalpers. They have flourished in the pandemicPeople are making money selling through StubHub? How?!?
Ok, then I'm declaring my Gophers tickets and "donation" as a business expense if we're going to play that game.If you sell tickets on StubHub and realize more than $600 in a year, you have to file with the IRS via StubHub.
COGS - cost of goods soldOk, then I'm declaring my Gophers tickets and "donation" as a business expense if we're going to play that game.
I tried declaring myself a charity, later a non-human being of pure energy.Ok, then I'm declaring my Gophers tickets and "donation" as a business expense if we're going to play that game.
They are forcing StubHub to require SS numbers or tax ID numbers from those who gain more than $600 from sales. Is that self reporting?
Or is It the IRS forcing them to make the seller do so?
Very rarely does anyone make more than they paid for their tickets - so there should be no tax collection...People are making money selling through StubHub? How?!?
Exactly. I just got my notification today. I have " lost " , donated and given away many more tickets than I was ever paid for them. Hard to understand why the IRS can't raise that ceiling and go after folks who are making big bucks.Great to see the IRS going after the big guys like teenagers buying bitcoin and boomers selling football tickets. Scum of our society, those folks are.
Don't forget to write off any household pets as "livestock".Ok, then I'm declaring my Gophers tickets and "donation" as a business expense if we're going to play that game.
I thought they were dependents?Don't forget to write off any household pets as "livestock".![]()
Yes, the simple fix is to raise the $600 to at least $1,000.00, or a little more.Exactly. I just got my notification today. Pretty sure that is law that would require congress.Yes, the simple fix is to raise the $600 to at least $1,000.00, or a little more.
You are correct. The IRS doesn’t set the limit.Pretty sure that is law that would require congress.
Is he 65?Yes, my cat is blind and eligible for the Railroad Retirement Fund
Not surprising at all. A continued effort to stifle anyone from making money other than big corporations. The ongoing war against small business or anyone similar wages on...Scalpers beware! Uncle Sam wants to collect their shares of your scalps.
What’s stifling about that? You make money, pay your taxes, and all is good. Not surprising at all. A continued effort to stifle anyone from making money other than big corporations. The ongoing war against small business or anyone similar wages on...
True. We should increase funding to the IRS so they have the resources to go after the big fish.Great to see the IRS going after the big guys like teenagers buying bitcoin and boomers selling football tickets. Scum of our society, those folks are.
I believe $600 is the amount where a 1099 has to be issued for contract work (or at least it used to be that when I did some low-level consulting). That was a number of years ago and I'm a little surprised it hasn't been adjusted upward (if that is indeed the case).Yes, the simple fix is to raise the $600 to at least $1,000.00, or a little more.
