Lately this bowl seems to have a liking for geographic proximity. Purdue and Tennessee last year, Kentucky and Iowa this year.

Iowa isn’t really “close” to Nashville but it’s a doable drive, as is Purdue. Kentucky and Tennessee are in Nashville’s regional backyard.

Knowing that Iowa and Kentucky played each other last year....it's pretty surprising to see the Music City Bowl choose this matchup. Not to mention that it's probably going to be brutally boring.
