IOWA CITY — Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz confirmed Tuesday what was expected regarding Luke Lachey's health status moving forward. The Iowa tight end won't be seeing the field again anytime soon.
"Most likely," Ferentz said when asked if Lachey's injury, suffered in Saturday's 41-10 win over Western Michigan, was a season-ending one. "Just unfortunate. He's going to be fine, but just a tough, tough development,"
Ferentz didn't confirm whether Lachey's injury was a broken ankle or leg, only that he suffered a "clean break" and was undergoing surgery Tuesday
"... Both running backs have lower leg injuries. Hopefully sooner than later (we'll get them back), but just day-to-day and week-to-week."

Kirk Ferentz on the status of Iowa's injured running backs Jaz Patterson and Kaleb Johnson
"On a more week-to-week type basis, Jaz and Kaleb won't be available this week," Ferentz said. "We'll evaluate that each week as we go forward. But they are both going to be out Saturday. We'll have the guys who we finished up with the other day."... Both running backs have lower leg injuries. Hopefully sooner than later (we'll get them back), but just day-to-day and week-to-week."
