Iowa State trolls Iowa by planning to wear black uniforms for Iowa at Iowa State

They have yellow ("gold") as a color. If they had done yellow black yellow, with just a smidge of red ... then that would be trolling :)

I don't know that I understand how this is a shot at Iowa. I hope we don't similarly try to troll Wisconsin by wearing Cardinal for our game against them.
 

Iowa State sucks, they are one of the most over-rated and over hyped teams year after year recently because everyone likes Matt Campbell.
I'm no Hawkeye lover, far from it. I hate Iowa just like most Gopherholer's here, hate the Hawks a lot but I expect them to roll the Cyclones on Saturday. Iowa State just isn't that good.

ISU had a pretty easy schedule last year.

ISU can't win on the field so they play the mind games.

I guess it can't hurt because what the Cyclones are doing now sure isn't working.

This rivalry is kinda why I wish we had another D-1 football program in the State.

According to vegasinsider, Iowa State is currently favored by 5 points. Others sports books listed have Iowa State by anywhere from 3 to 5. Must be all that Ames money coming in for the Cyclones.

They should just flat out wear Iowa's uniforms. Like order some generic black and gold unis from the Eastbay catalog and slap some hawkeye stickers on there.

Sounds like a solid value bet.

It should be an interesting game; great watching for a football fan. We'll find out which of these two teams deserves their high ranking.
 

Iowa State has worn black uniforms many times over the past few years. In fact, they wore them last week.

They probably are really happy. Iowa State is good in a way most people thought they could never ever be. They are hosting GameDay this weekend and are top 10, in spite of being effectively us -- but in Ames, Iowa and in a crappier conference.

Remember, if the Gophers weren't running out alt uniforms we would have threads on here about how we're neglected and disrespected by Nike for not having them. These threads have been alive in the past.

Why would you expect Iowa to roll? That doesn’t make sense to me.
 

Those are awesome looking uniforms.
Look very Penn-State-like.

(Except the logo on the help and lack of stripe).

With that look, you know Iowa State will be ready for the game. The only thing preventing them from beating Iowa now is the over-confidence they might exude from wearing such awesome looking uniforms.

You’re right, they didn’t. There’s a chance I might be a complete idiot, and here’s why: I was actually at that game. I was obviously thinking about being at the Gopher game two days earlier.

I don’t think I was drinking that much, but maybe I was.

Maybe too much football is addling my brain. I need to change my best.
