Iowa eyeing Mollberg

It is pretty obvious that if Mollberg wants to be a Gopher it will be as a walk-on. It will come down to whether he wants his school paid for or not.

I'm sure he will make the best decision for him and his family.

I hope for the best for this Mollberg kid. He looks like a winner - good football sense, accurate passer, good runner.

Is Dexter Foreman better than Mollberg? Hard to tell from these video clips.

There had to be reasons why the Gophers coaching staff made the decision not to offer Mollberg.

It seems like both can play other positions.

If Mollberg gets a scholie from Iowa or Nebraska, watchout. This may be one decision that may haunt the Gophers.

I agree that I think Mollberg is impressive, but I think the real question should be...are Nelson and Leidner better than Mollberg?

Foreman is in this current class (2011) and he is actually quite a different kind of player than Mollberg (or any QB on our roster other than Gray).
-Foreman was likely added because Coach Kill said he didn't like the depth on our roster at QB after spring ball (Mollberg wouldn't help that).
-Foreman is a guy who is athletic and his flex position would likely be WR or S. Mollberg would either end up a QB or a TE/DE.

So, the real question is: Is Mollberg better than Leidner?
-They are both in 2012
-They are both QBs who would be moved to TE (if they had to move)

As far as Iowa and Nebraska going after him...I actually hope they do. Like I said, i'd like to see as many MN kids get scholarships as possible to play Division 1 BCS football. An offer might come from Iowa but I doubt Nebraska. I agree with you that it might come back to bite us, he looks like a talented kid, but then again so does Leidner...so I don't know.

Hey bobber. Royce white best friend is marcus williams ndsu
Maresh'S brother was a star at ndsu, neither was far fetched, both talked with ndsu, rengel got in an argument with a coach.

Mollberg will be a great addition to NDSU

Both were extremely far fetched. Royce White was obviously not going to NDSU and there was never a chance of him going there. I get that you know that Marcus Williams and Royce went to the same HS but the idea of Royce going to NDSU was laughable.

Maresh was always going JuCo.

Again, you talk about things like they are really being talked about (Royce, Rengal and Maresh going to NDSU) when they are nothing but creations of your own mind. You came up with the idea about Royce and Maresh, on your own! I don't know about Rengel, but I do know that even if Rengel never met with NDSU coaches, you would be on here yapping about how he did meet with NDSU coaches. It's what you do.

Here is what happens:
Lets say a hypothetical player John Doe who is from Hibbing, MN decides to either leave the U (or isn't offered by the U). Your simple brain comes on here and you say things like "John Doe LOVES NDSU, he is so excited to play with his very best friend Billy Bison because they played together at Hibbing High". Now, keep in mind that you would interject this little nugget into a game thread of Gopher-Ohio St. football.

Now, the only kernal of truth in the entire process is that John Doe left the U (or wasn't offered) and anyone with a fully functioning brain could come to the conclusion that NDSU would be a possibility. It's easier to get PT, they can give scholarships, close to home, etc. However, you come on here and act like this obvious possibility is something that is actually in the process of going down.

Royce White was NEVER going to go to NDSU, that was as a product of your silly mind. Maresh, I have no idea if he considered it, i'd guess it wasn't a possibility because of his academic issues and that he'd have had to go JuCo. Rengel, I have no idea. I do know that you would absolutely be saying the exact same thing about Rengel had he never considered NDSU. Did he? I don't know, probably...but you obviously had no idea because you would have said the very same thing about ANYONE. You constantly do this.

I sure hope Mollberg lands a BCS offer. I agree with blah blah blah that this would be good for MN football in general. I played in HS with Mollberg's dad (Kent), who was also a QB, and I believe went on to play some at UMD for Malosky. His grandpa Del was the longtime athletic director at DLHS, so he comes from a strong athletic background.

Maybe the best player from Detroit Lakes since former Gopher Rich Borstad.

Yea bob, you knowitall. Good luck to joe mollberg

The entire point is that I don't know. However, unlike you, I don't come on here pretending to know anything besides the obvious (any kid would take a big 10 scholarship before they went up to your favorite little community college).

I will agree with the second part, good luck to Joe Mollberg, wherever he ends up.
