Iowa basketball program from bad to worse - transfer rumors

Lickliter's son is redshirting this year - he played HS ball with Gatens last year. I guess he's a good player, although he's 5'11" maybe. Sounds like another Brody Boyd type player, if you remember him. Don't blame you if you don't.:)

Non-scholarship player. If he is asked to play any meaningful minutes, then you're looking at an Indiana-type season, circa 2009. You may be even if the coach's kid doesn't play.

Well the word in Hawkeye land is that Peterson and Palmer are now also "officially" gone. That leaves them with a handful of players for next year at best.

Yikes. Even with all these Tubby rumors flying around, it's still better than the situation in Iowa right now!!!

May it all be so.

A pox upon their children and their childrens' children.

The chant at Williams next year should be "Who Pities Iowa? We Pity Iowa!"

The defections leave a big hole at PG but other than Kelly and a far lesser extent Peterson we don't lose much of anything. (I wish Brommer had joined the exodus.) We finished 10th and gave the 11th place team their only win but still have 4 players who started coming back (although Bawinkle is a role player) and the new practice facility is still on track. It may sound like I'm trying to polish a turd but the net result as I see it is that progress is retarded for a year.

I can appreciate this viewpoint. After all, it's one Gopher fans have had to take in past years. But there is also that inherent frustration of having to wait out a rebuilding process. That just sucks and makes things difficult. It's situations like this that are a big reason why I enjoy success when it comes, no matter how often or fleetingly the occasion is.

Iowa Help

I have recently heard that Iowa is in the process of most likely offering a scholly to Nate Wolters of St. Cloud Tech,I think it depends if a Juco player accepts, But i dont think it will do any good because hes turned down a bunch of D1 schools already...But will all the playing time opening up?? Who knows...
