My latest "Inside the Film Room" piece just went live on the main article landing page! We are still working out some issues with the forum, so I wanted to post a link in there.

In my Outback Bowl preview, I analyzed buck sweeps and Auburn's aggressive defensive scheme. I also provided some keys for Minnesota. Please reply with any comments or questions you have and I'll be happy to respond!

Thanks Daniel, you said a mouthful here. Good thing we had more than a week to get ready for these guys. Like the way they huddle, but if the wind was blowing in their face they might want to consider changing that huddle. Perhaps they do.

Heck of a read, great stuff. Thanks!!

Go Gophers!!

Great stuff, Daniel. We are unbelievably lucky to have your expertise here.

Your final comment is the key takeaway:

"The biggest question is how the staff can creatively get the ball out quick. At the end of the day, pass protection will be one of the defining variables in the Outback Bowl."

I wonder how the offensive game plan and scheming for this game have been impacted by the change at coordinator.

I also wonder about the possible loss (or limited status) of Faalele.

A Gopher win in this game would be quite an accomplishment.

Totally agree. I wonder if we see more passes to our RBs and TEs (or really just BSF) this game. I assume AU will try to aggressively cover 6 and 13.

Shocking, surprising, or mildly attention-getting.

The guys are fully capable of a win. I’m going to get pretty excited should that come or pass.

KC’s “we are who we are“ and that’s all that we are attitude may have skipped town with him but we’ll see. Have to believe they will need to break some habits against a defense like this and the new staff may have some thoughts.

I suspect Paulson will be out, which bugs me almost as much as Faalele likely missing the game. Bryce Witham will need a huge game. Just throw him the damn ball!

Great write up Daniel! Learned a ton. Going to be tough but I still wonder how good the BiG is. Maybe Iowa, Wisky and PSU are of similar caliber? The assumption is no, but I think the SEC is overrated at times. Guess we will see.

who wrote this for you?
Wow. You’re kidding, right?

Daniel House is one of the most well-informed, thoughtful, detailed writers to ever expound on Gophers football. His stuff is consistently amazing, and is a must-read for Gophers fans.

I suppose you ought to get a pass for your comment, since you joined GopherHole approximately five minutes ago, but geez, it’s probably in your best interests to pay a little closer attention.
