Injury Updates Week 2: Bad news for the TEs

I wouldn't switch Elmore from D line to Tight end but I would consider using red zone

It might be too late in the season for this, is there anyone on the dline who would be considered to switch back to TE (Elmore maybe)?
I have seen other teams that have former Tight ends that play defensive line line up and use those defensive line men in the red zone or goal line situations.

Wouldn't mind seeing Elmore since he played the position get worked in to some goal line or red zone packages where he would have a chance to catch the ball. Kid was a fairly good tight end in HS so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility they could work him in as part of the tight end package on passing downs in the redzone or goal line situations. Good athlete he could probably handle playing both ways on occasion and being apart of a heavy package where he ends up streaking off the line and getting open.
Gotta think the coaches have at least considered using Elmore over there some with those injury's to both Plesk and Duke A.
Wouldn't hurt to try him over there some in practice.

Elmore is doing well at DL. let's let him concentrate on that and find someone else to step up. I'd like to see more Streveler as a TE.

Maxx was special, but I think in this offense the TE's main purpose in life is to block.

Absolutely. And unfortunately, I thought the TE blocking against TCU was woefully lacking. Wozniak is not exactly a natural at it.

Plsek will sorely missed in the running game

I don't know if "woeful" was my take, but I also ran a few plays back a few times to look at the blocking and was a little surprised. Saw guys on various running plays never hit anyone, including Woz. I'm not savvy enough to know whether it was similar to last year when TCU's quickness seemed to be the mismatch, or whether it was scheme related. I chalked it up as overall a better showing against them and our OL was pretty decent last year so we may be ok if we can get some people healthy.

On TOS, a doctor added his thoughts and basically said that an ACL repair that requires a scope is a bad sign and indicates that the knee is unstable and other bad stuff. That was when the first reports hit and everyone assumed he'd be back in 2 weeks, the dr said he thought it was a bad sign and doubted he'd be back soon. Hopefully he's wrong and didn't have all the info, or they can do something else to address the problem. Duke is a great kid and hope everything works out well for him.

Thanks for the info. Was the doc an orthopod or a different specialist? It can also be as simple as minor scar tissue accumulation that extends from around the area where the hamstring tendon (what they often use as the new "ligament") inserts into the tibia. This will cause pain and decreasing range of motion. Usually requires "simple" arthroscopic "clean out" and often only takes ~2-3 weeks to get back to reasonable status unless inaction prior to surgery decreased the muscle strength and/or flexibility significantly.

Really bad news on the TEs. They were options 1A and 1B entering the season. Time for someone to really step up.

Plsek is not at all a receiver, and I always figured Anyanwu would get hurt. I think the real 1A and 1C are playing.

Ortho. I think he also mentioned possibility of arthritis which doesn't sound good to me, but he was adamant right away that surgery this soon is a bad sign and he really didn't have any positive caveats. Sounds like you know your stuff too.
