If Royce started playing next game...

...it would be perfect because then he would have time to acclimate himself to the college game before the Big Ten season. Obviously this isn't going to happen. I would hate to have him thrown right in there for the first time during Big 10 play. I would say it's going to take at least 5 games before he's ready to make a serious impact. Is that going to be too late?
