Umm, ACC has no hockey whatever there is a provision or not. ND is joining Big Ten in hockey. I assume if Georgia tech got ready to leave up the skates maybe it would be different, but until then we'll have to watch the only acc team in a big ten rink.

Point is that ND has a contract that makes it a member of the ACC in all but football and hockey. They will not be joining the Big Ten as a conference member except in one sport. T hey have zero desire to join the Big 10.

So, basically, you are forming two ten team conferences in one conference. Might as well call them the Big East and the Big Ten. Which pretty much means you have to go through 19 other teams or 9 teams plus the best team from another conference to make it to the football final four. Does this sound appealing to any football coach? Why wouldn't Texas just join the Pac 12 or the ACC to get an easier path to the championship? Same for Notre Dame.

I don't think the Big Ten Network has enough pull to make this happen. The 30M payout per team goes down to 21M per team. There is a point of diminishing returns. Or in other words, you would have to wait to do this till the year before the next television contract is negotiated.
