I wonder what season ticket renewals will be?

Am I worried about ticket sales? No. Here's why:

Home games against wisky, Iowa, NDSU, Nebraska.

Scalpers will be all over that. Those away fans will be all over that.

Either Chryst or Kill will lead me to dump my two and my buddy who sits with me's two. You didn't get Leach or Belotti, and you instead settled on some retreads. I have no need to fund those kind of decisions. I'll work on keeping Big Ten Network alive instead...

So tell us. Who turned the Gophers down which may cause us to settle on some retreads? Harbaugh? Hoke? Peterson? Belotti? I think Bruininks nixed Leach long ago.

We may never know.

I have to believe they will hire the best available candidate based on their criteria.

Wouldn't you rather have Gopher fans in the seats? :\

I wonder what would end up being lower: attendance or Kill's white blood cell count?

Seriously what is wrong with you? How many cancer jokes do you need to make? Lay off the guy.

Not counting Lou Holtz
How many coaches had winning records similar to Kill's before coming to Minnesota?

ANSWER PLEASE

So the only hope for a 3/4 full stadium will be becoming Madison West, North Kinnick, East Fargo, and Far North Lincoln? At best the brand new TCF is a neutral site stadium.

Season tickets on the street $125 for the year.

I completely agree Bayfield. My only point is I wish they'd have done whatever it took to do better. To get those tier 1 guys. I know it is a huge financial comittment, but I think a winning program here would payoff bigtime. The new stadium is only a money maker if you get fans to the games. This is not the point to go soft and take another chance. You just find the right coach and make him an offer he can't refuse.

My bad. I meant retreads in terms of the same sort of coaches we always hire. Guy's that had some limited success at smaller schools or guys who have no experience of ever running an entire program. Neither excite me.

I'm not excited about the two latest names, but at least they are on-the-rise type of coaches...so to speak.

Fulmer is the ultimate retread in this equation.

I look at Kill/Chryst as being safe hires that probably say more about us being turned down a lot than it does about Kill/Chryst as candidates.

I'd rather take Chryst if it is down to these two...just because.

I certainly would. But from Maturi's perspective, butts in seats are more important than how fat (Iowa), drunk (wisky), or uneducated (NDSU) those butts happen to be.

Having said that, the following year could be extra brutal, with none of those schools coming here.

I would not cancel my season tickets either but this would be a big letdown with all of the buildup. It would be like going to see the number one singer in the world. Without thinking about it you know it could be great and then you realize it is Susan Boyle.

Go Gophers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NDSU fans shouldn't even be allowed in the state.

I will keep mine no matter what. Maybe even get a chance to upgrade seats.

I never believed Minnesota would do that. Maturi/etc went to battle with a M-16 and not a state of the art weapon. This is Minnesota not Alabama or Texas.. The committment nor the resources are there to hire away a big time coach. Big time coaches have zero desire to take on a Minnesota type program. Can you imagine Harbaugh going to IU? Or Saban going to Colorado? Miami may have a tough time getting a top liner.

I would like to know who we interviewed and who we offered but that likely won't happen. Coach Kill, Edsall types may have been our best options.

Hang in there Sparlimb.

Thats the problem. Kill isn't in Edsall's league. If we have to settle for a guy who's greatest accomplishment is losing in the MAC championship then we may as well have taken a chance on a guy who was the National Coach of the Year 2 years ago????
