I wish Minnesota had a mid-major program

Missouri - Other D-I Schools
SE Mo
Missouri St.
St. Louis
UMKC

Mass. - Other D-I Schools
U Mass
Northeastern
Harvard
Boston U
(Other MAAC and NEC schools also?)

Wisconsin
Marquette
UW-Green Bay
UW-Milwaukee

So, no MN, like WY, HA, have a single D-I program

The post you're referring to is about football programs. How's that Golden Eagle gridiron squad of Marquette? Or those pesky turd wranglers of UW-Green Bay?

Don't tell that to all the underpiad faculty. One of the most readily believed legends in the metro area is the wealth of St. Thomas. It's endowments are lower than virtually all of the rest of the private four year colleges in Minnesota, salaries for teachers are barely above a suburban high school teacher in the metro, and they charge for things that many schools give for "free" because they struggle to make ends meet. Huge capital campaigns make news, but they rarely make institutions wealthy, especially when they are bricks and mortar like most of the UST campaigns are.

You are way off on this one Holy Man.

Sorry, but St. Thomas has an endowment of 252 million, the largest in the state after the U, Carleton, and Macalester.(only because of the Dewitt RD stock donation years ago) By contrast Augsburg, an old line Lutheran College has an endowment of 24M, and Gustavus is at 58M.

Mississippi State has the same size endowment as St. Thomas.

Carleton has old money, MAC was lucky, but St. Thomas grew from nothing into a formidable institution in a mere 30 years. This wasn't because of the Archdiocese who gave UST nothing. The have a well oiled Development office that raises funds better than almost anyone.

This thread is about mid-majors, which is a basketball related term, and is in the basketball forum, not the football forum. Please just don't beat up on my mid-major Rabbits too bad later this month. BTW, U Mass is considering going to FBS football conference, MAC, from the top FCS conference, CAA.

Regarding football, what is MN record vs Dakota FCS teams? 2-2 the last 4 years?:) Considering the national average of FCS>FBS = 8%, I can see why all the FCS teams are lining up the Gophs for a big paycheck, and a 1/2 chance to get the win :clap:

With the 3 Dakota schools (UND, NDSU, SDSU) all within 30 miles of the MN/SD or ND line, it's like having 3 MN schools already. ;) Besides, the Dakota schools typically have a large contigency of MN players that weren't "good enough" to get a Goph schollie offer. Interesting that the Dakota schools get any wins vs UofM.

Go away. You fail at simple geography. North Dakota State University is not in Minnesota, and we don't want to adopt you.

Almost nothing in this post is true or correct.
