A little history here, station. A few months ago I said the same thing about 400 to 500 on FB forum, 400 to 500 on BB Forum, and 11 on the new Hockey Forum. Made a reference to where the real sports fans are. Guess what? I got threatened to a banning because we are fans of all Gopher Sports. So, be careful on this, my friend.

I'd say you're antagonizing and instigating. Remember, it was Pawlenty who said this is the state of hockey. Blame him.

For what it's worth, on GPL, the game thread for us against the Irish and approximately 7,000 views, while the thread on here of us against Lehigh had around 4,500. Unscientific I know, but a sign that this narrative may be a bit inaccurate.
 

As pointed out earlier, a more accurate comparison would be comparing number of people on the basketball forum with the people on Gopher Puck Live. Even if the comparison were valid, don't see the point.

GPL is a collective audience. GopherHole is a mixed audience. I think the activity on GopherHole is more indicative of what the Gopher Sports Fans are more interested in.
 

The only reason I ended up with FB season tickets vs. hockey...I was dropped off the hockey list after a 10yr wait for failing to respond to some survey and FB was a cheap gopher fix w/tailgating.

All diehard hockey fans know you go to GPL and prior to that POI for hockey info.

NCAA D1 Scolarship Players- ~10,000 FB, ~3800 BB, ~1200 in Hockey.

Of that 1200, ~180 are from MN (15%).

When 15% of the FB (1500) or BB (570) players are from MN, we'll be known as the state of those sports as well.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting......

I appreciate the effort and response. However I wasn't addressing the roster size or number of scholarships.

One way or the other, GH isn't where I, or many other, fans go to talk puck.

GPL or USCHO is the place to be for that.

I totally agree that if one wants to talk hockey, for sure go there, PLEASE!!!

Why not? You already come here for BB or FB. Is the hockey forum just slow to grow?
 

I second what most have mentioned here.

Gopher hockey has rewarded Minnesota fans with National/WCHA Championships much more frequently than Gopher football and basketball as of recent. It is nice to support a winning team once and a while.

Hopefully, football and basketball are on the rise.

Yep, although to be fair, not much else to talk about. Oh, except for Reid Watch, Reaction to Reid Watch, Mo's suspension, first BB game of a new era, and I think some sort of a football game yesterday. No wonder the guy still thinks Reusse is entertaining.
 

For someone who doesn't care about hockey, Station 19 really cares about hockey and its fans.

While I appreciate you coming to his aid, the bolded is absurd and you know it. I guess I just don't understand why people feel the need to bash any sport, whether it's hockey, soccer, tennis, or badminton. Does it really matter what people play, watch, and enjoy? I thought the old folk were supposed to be above this petty nonsense and into that "live and let live" malarkey.

Stoa, you and I have gotten along great here on GH. But to give S19 hell for opening a thread with a simple damned question is not acceptable to me. I thought the young folk were supponed to be above this petty nonsense and into that "live and let live: malarkey.
