I know you all hate Coyle but

I like Coyle. I wish he was a better fundraiser but he has made some good hires and as this report shows he is keeping the department afloat.

This revenue share is low hanging fruit no? I mean the big ten suits do that negotiating, right? what has coyle done to improve that? I honestly don’t know - is there something that sets coyle apart here?

Also, which hires have been good? Ben Johnson and Lindsay Whalen stand out has horrible hires but I’m sure others have been good. Which ones? Which teams are performing better year over year?

Do you not pay attention to public school athletics budgets nationwide?
Because that’s what sets it apart

There was a report out earlier today Rutgers athletic dept is like 78 million underwater per year

Agree on the hires

PJ was a great hire
So was Niko
Motzko revitalized our hockey program and came within inches of a national title
Whalen sucked but was somewhat understandable
Ben was not Coyle’s choice to hire

Motzko sat Brock Faber and the best line in U history on the bench to open OT of the championship game and lost.

Hard to.pin that historic blunder on anyone except Motzko but in his defense did get the program there. Now it sucks and he will get canned.

TF?
Revenue sharing limits are mandated by court order. The Gophers alloted the max allowable by law. There isn't anything Coyle could do to "improve that."
He could allocate the $20.5 differently between sports, but he can't allocate more.

The game ended off the faceoff, it didn't really matter who was standing there, play would have developed the same way, unless we won the draw. If you want to be mad at someone Logan Cooley inexcusably boneheaded penalty that lead to the tying goal

More like boneheaded penalty call against Cooley by that ref.

So Motzko gets a waiver on pulling a PJ for the entire 3rd period?

Motzko wasn't hired several times at the U for a reason before Coyle hired him.

The reason he wasn't hired is because of his penchant to do less with more.

He never should have been hired.

Or Close letting in a couple of soft goals.

Why does Coyle get credit for the Big Ten signing a larger TV deal and then giving equal shares of that to every conference team (except Wash/Oregon I believe, for now) ??

I don't think that has a single thing to do with Coyle?

Lucia had the job for. 19 years wtf are you even talking about, no one was getting hired between 1999 and 2018

What the hell are you talking about the job was only open one time and Bob was hired at that time.

Who else should have been hired?

And doing less with more is quite an odd way to describe the guy who basically put the SCSU program on the map in college hockey.
