For all the bashing he has taken this year I still think he gives us the best chance to win. When things have clicked on offense this year he has looked solid. Hopefully with one more year with Sanford, who I assume will be returning, they can figure out how to eliminate the disastrous offensive performances that popped up vs BG and Illinois.

My thoughts and that's all they are.

If morgan is back clark leaves...

I don’t think Morgan should come back! Grateful for him and his accomplishments! I also think Sanford should be fired and not come back also

Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked to see both ZA and and one of the younger QBs leave. ZA would be a grad transfer and still have two years remaining. I know his family is close to the program, I just could also see him getting antsy.

With Clark, I think it would largely depend upon where he ranks with Kramer, Athan, etc. He would have to sit out a season if he transfers, so if ZA leaves, I'm not sure if there is a clearer path to PT at a P5 school. He might go the JuCo route for 1 season too.

The RB room will also get interesting. It'll get extremely interesting depending upon Trey Potts.

I would like to start over with someone else. I wish we could get a little dual threat. The runs that are there if the qb keeps are wide open and very well could be next year.

ZA has already stated he's coming back and that's whether Morgan does or doesn't. He's all class.

I'm not really sure how anyone can watch the last 2 seasons and be excited for Morgan to start again, its time for someone else

He’s 2-2 vs WI after 14 straight losses. Lead us to a top-10 ranking in ‘19. When he’s on, he’s on and dropping dimes. The kid is the best QB in my lifetime as a Gopher fan. He has his limits, but I’m surprised people wouldn’t welcome him back.

Yes but Sanford has completely wrecked him. If Sanford isn’t fired it’s the same thing next year, frustration with bits of happiness like today! If Morgan comes back Sanford has to be gone 100% no matter what

Is this real or just what you think will happen?
It's a thing I've seen posted about on Nebraska's message board. I think it's just like "wouldn't this be annoying" if Martinez transfers out, goes to MN and becomes really good. I don't believe there is any validity to it, but I've seen more than 1 Husker poster bring it up.

He wasn’t announced on SR night .. i tgink hes coming back

Do i hope tanner comes back.... Yes on ONE condition... Sanford Jr leaves and Simon is promoted... I don't know what that guy does to fuck up passing games. But he's ruined 2 qbs in a row....

I know he had Johnson and Bateman but he still went for 30 TDs vs 7 int in 2019. He clearly has been a different QB with Sanford as OC. He has looked a lot better the past two weeks when we have opened it up a bit. Outside of the pick he played pretty good today.

What does all that mean? I’ve got no idea, but I do know if I had to choose Morgan or Sanford in ‘22 I’d choose Morgan every time.

I think he will transfer out of Nebraska.
Yeah I didn’t look far enough down the thread to see what you were getting at. I haven’t liked Morgan all year....but I have to honest, if Mo hasn’t gotten hurt we would probably be 11-1 right now. If he wants to come back I’m fine with it. He has been very classy and a huge asset to our program. That being said I would love Martinez for a season. It will be interesting to see which players will come back for a super senior season. Supposedly Fleck said even if they went through the senior recognition there still could be some who come back.

Morgan is a great guy, a good leader and a total team player. If he’s back next year, we probably lose a QB to the portal. So be it. But Morgan has had a great four year run. OK to give someone else a chance, too. We beat Wisconsin. I’m happy. Whatever.

From my perspective:
admittedly, the fans don't get to watch practice, so we don't know what the other QB's on the roster look like.

So, Morgan may very well be the best QB on the roster and gives the Gophers the best chance to win.

But, we have to accept that on faith, because - other than a little bit of Annexstad and Kramer - we've never seen any of the other QB's take meaningful snaps in an actual game.

So I hope that one of the other QB's is capable of playing, because as durable as Morgan is, he - like any starting QB - is always one bad hit away from the medical tent.

Morgan had a decent run. If there is no one better to play in 2022 that’s on fleck

Only way Im ok with Morgan one more year is if Sanford is fired.

morgan was a glorified hand off specialist for most of the year, only the last 2 games did that seem to shift.

i dont like that we waited until now to open up our playbook to TEs. So dumb

I'd take Martinez in a minute, but not as a QB. He doesn't have the makeup to be a consistent winner at QB but with his athletic ability, he could thrive at WR likely in the slot!
