I am suddenly optimistic.....am I wrong?

Before this season Myron said the coaches did not expect Rodney to return for his senior year. Has something changed? Has Rodney or the coaches indicated that he will be back?

In the post game news conference after the last home game of the season, Rodney was asked if he had played his last game in Williams Arena, he responded with, "Naw, you guys are going to be seeing a lot more of me."

I think it's the right decision. This year's draft class is extremely deep, if he returns he'll likely get his degree and have the opportunity to improve his game before entering a much less deep draft class. Same goes for Trevor if he gets his 6th year, except he'll have the opportunity to get a graduate degree, or at least get close to finishing it before going pro.

This may be random but does Mbakwe only have one eye?

I'm not a Gopher fan, but my alma mater's hoops team makes yours look like the golden pinnacle of excellence, so I follow yours as I live in the twin cities. Anyways, I'm a bit unbiased:

I sort of like your team for next year. It could be a nice mix of players if everyone who could return makes it back.

I like your guards. They can almost all shoot. The younger Hollins especially looks like he could really become a nice outside scorer. They'll get a lot more open looks with Mbakwe down low. Eliason generally has the feel of the sort of big man who's going to come a long, long ways before his college career is over.

If Rodney finally makes "the leap" in his senior year, you guys could be sneaky good. Once that guy starts to trust his shot, which is really a pretty shot, he -looks- like he should be stroking 40% from 3, his offensive game should explode. He'll find it a lot easier to get to the hoop in the half court if people have to follow him 20' out. He's got Kobe's body, but he doesn't have his confidence and that's unfortunate.

Even if he remains more of a mid range and finisher, the top 7 or 8 seem like they should be pretty good. Mbakwe back would be a game changer.
