Hunter Dickinson’s college basketball career ended with a thud for Kansas in March Madness.

Hunter Dickinson was the first true star of college basketball free agency in the transfer portal. After a productive three-year career at Michigan where he put up huge counting stats and angered every opposing Big Ten fan base, Dickinson transferred to Kansas ahead of his fourth-year to join one of the premier programs in the sport.
:
Dickinson was just awful against Arkansas, finishing with 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the field to go with nine rebounds, four assists, and four turnovers. Dickinson often looked moody and entitled during his time with the Jayhawks, and this was a premium example: in a do-or-die NCAA tournament, he was sloppy with the ball, played with a low motor, and just didn’t seem to care that much.

Dickinson more times than not looked uninterested unless he was being fed the ball. It was a great fit until it wasn't. Really looking forward to Flory Bidunga taking over in the middle next year for KU.

And whatever high-priced mercenaries who will be all about the name on the back of the jersey, per usual. Wonder where Storr will be next season.

I remember seeing him against the gophers at Williams three years ago. He couldn't have looked more bored and disinterested. Very unusual for a college player.

Good question.

As for the mercenaries, that tends to be true wherever they end up. If they mesh then most will find some success. If they don't most will find failure.

Listening to Chris Weber on Friday's Dan Patrick Show, Hunter Dickinson's name came up during a general discussion on NIL/Portal.

Weber made it sound as though Dickinson after 2023 (Year 3 at CWeb's Alma Mater) felt as though his own Pro Prospects were going to be far from from a certainty. The raise he signed up for at Kansas is enough to set him up for decades.

Sounded like Weber had a lot of empathy for the path that Dickinson chose, and got it.

He was also hopeful that at some point it will be less chaotic.

Every time he jogs down the court, it looks like he farts every step.
