Sure hope for that kids NBA future that was only an ankle sprain. Sure looks like an acl or mcl tear though.

It was pretty clearly his knee. He could put some weight on it and got up quickly, so I doubt it's a full tear. Whatever it is, please be back in 2-3 weeks.

This is my initial thought. I mean no one even touched his knee and he couldnt even put pressure on it. The way his knee bent just looked nasty

Hopefully it's one of those situations where at first it seems worse than it really is. Hope for his, Purdue's, and the Big Ten's sake that he's not out for long.

Myron tweeted that it's a "possible torn ACL". So that's cool.

He came back on crutches and if I were a betting man I would bet his season is over. Glad to see the Boilers regroup as they looked lost after Hummel went down.

I'm glad they finally got it together, but it doesn't really matter in the long run. This is barely a Sweet 16 team without Hummel. And the Final Four was all that mattered.

How about we go back in time and Purdue forfeits the game? Gopher's get their win, Purdue keeps Hummel. Win-win.

Agreed - hopefully the injury isn't too serious! He's a great ball player - really good performance in the first half tonight.

From lookin at it on the replay's I would say it was an acl tear. Brother had one similar to that in soccer and even though he could put some weight on it, he needed surgery and was out for months. I don't think we'll be seeing Hummel back this year.

2-1 to finish the B10 and we share the title would be great given the loss of Hummel.

Emotionally this win was one of the biggest in the last ten years for Purdue BBall. To see them go from getting dominated after Hummel goes down to watching Grant make that shot was pure joy for many Purdue BBall fans. It was not about winning the game, but seeing the seniors take on more leadership after watching Hummel go down the way he did.

On the flip side tough loss for the Gophers just because of the stakes and the way the game ended.

I'm glad Keaton and others stepped up, but I'm not sure how you can use joy and this game in the same sentence.

Another classy gesture by the Minnesota student section. They were applauding when he first went down.

At least the rest of the crowd made up for it when he "walked" off the court.

Because Keaton has had a huge comeback this year considering where he came from. Grant and Kramer will remember this game for a long time in terms of stepping up and leading a team to victory.

That cheer was probably for the turnover, and I am pretty sure the student section clapped when he walked off just like everyone else.

Wait, I know they did because I was in it. Were you?

There was a lot of cheering when Hummel went down. Eventually they realized how serious it was and stopped.

The refs stopped the game Hummel was rolling on the ground and the students cheered. End of story.

Once again... I would be willing to bet it's because he traveled and turned the ball over in a place where we NEEDED a turnover... I bet you that it was NOT because he went down. When people realized he was down, it was silent.

I like watching him play and hope to see him back soon.

Get over yourself MNPurduefan

I doubt it is an ACL tear because it happened as his knee was pushed inward and he was grabbing the outside of his knee. I would guess it is something with his LCL. Then again, I'm no doctor. I agree with the sentiment and hope it is nothing too serious and he is able to get back for tourney time. I enjoy watching B10 teams go deep, regardless of who they are.

I don't know if I would call it cheering, but there definitely was a buzz going around the student section as if to say, "Hey we have a chance if he can't play the rest of the game," but it definitely went silent when everyone realized it might actually be a bad injury.

It's probably either MCL or ACL because of the angle his knee went. The MCL is the inner most ligament and the ACL is in the middle... I saw him grab the outside, but i don't think it was his LCL.

I hope he's okay. He's a tough kid with a bright future. Best of Luck to ROBBIE!
