how would you grade the kill hire, taking everything into account? the need for a big name, opportunity to create national buzz, recruiting, ability to sell tickets and on.

I'd say B, I'm a little suprised at how negative people are about this hire. I understand he's not at the Edsall level, but I would pack him in that Golden, Hoke, etc. pack as guys who have shown ability to win games at a non-BCS level, he even popped off an undefeated conference season.

C.

i'd give it a B based on his resume... but considering leach was ready to come and the fact that kill was not considered an 'A' candidate by anyone, i gotta go C.

Better question: What grade would you have given the Kill hire 1 week after Brewster was fired?

That should be the standard.

Epic fail.

F. We need a coach from a bigger university with more than 3 years as a Division 1 FBS coach. Preferably one with a BCS conference. Like Mullen.

Right now? Absolute "F". We accomplished nothing with this hire but further divide an already volatile fan base. Maturi's pre-hire comments absolutely destroyed our expectation levels with the "I can't believe HE'D even be interested" and so on. I can't begin to state how much I dislike Maturi. The ONLY program that has improved under his watch is the Men's B-Ball team and Tubby fell into his lap. Even if I give Maturi credit for that hire, Football, Women's B-Ball and both Hockey programs have drastically regressed. I blame the U's Admin for allowing this to happen even more than Maturi. I'm flat out disgusted...and the snickering you hear is coming from those *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#ing cheeseheads and pig farmers.

B on the talent end F on the pr end. Telling the public it would be Tubby Smith like hire and then the tease about a candidate he couldn't believe was interested in the position had people believing we would have a top line hire. This isn't it. It is very middle of the road and that is what I expect from the Gophers from here on out, middle of the Big Ten in good years, fighting it out with Indiana for next to last place most others.

Does "Fire Kill" sound as good as "Fire Brewster"?
This clown will be run out of town ASAP!

Leach would have at least sold tickets.
Look forward to an empty bank next year unless Kill has a huge family.

A B+ for now and when he leads Gopher Nation back to the Insight Bowl maybe I'll change it to a D.

The goal of the hire was to invigorate the fanbase. This does not do that. F.

By the way, I'm still waiting on my effing tweet Maturi!

Based purely on the coaching talent, I'd say B.

PR it's D.

I think if you want to get the fans behind this team they needed a big name with a history of success and beating big name schools.

I think will be good if we give him a chance, but I think there were better options.

D-

It's quite obvious several other candidates turned down the job if this is the best they could do.

C. He's got a nice track record, but the process was awful. The statement that the pocketbook would open up to a possible $3M was a complete lie if he is the best they could do.

SOLID C- very weak and cheap hire. If this is the best we could muster up, then why not give Horton a chance with Hammock at OC, hire a hot s*hit DC and roll with it...... This hire in the near future (1-3 years) achieves one thing, and that is to bore and scare off Gopher fans. That's it.

I gave it a B. We were expecting Brady Hoke or the coach from Navy and we lose our collective marbles over this?

F

It's gotta be an F. Kill may be a nice guy, and a decent coach, but he's never coached a BCS conference school, - so he's a really big risk. It's an F because we need marketing, ticket sales, enthusiam, excitment, recruiting, experiene, recognition, etc as much as we desperately need coaching, and we received nothing we needed.

59.95 technichaly passing but everyone knows you really failed.
