Lots of good points and lots of hurdles to overcome.
Moving to week zero would be good. That is two weeks of non conference games (for the most part) that would be played before the NFL even starts.
Bowl idea is really good. Put meaning into them.
Travel and logistics will be a sticking point. Finding out where, when, and who you are playing 6 days before is much more logistically an issue than in the NFL. More people to plan for.
Figuring thing out with the NFL will be a sticking point and don't expect the NFL to move anything. They play on Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Sunday of that weekend, so Saturday should be good.
