I really think that Murphy and maybe Mason would be the only guys on our entire team that would be in a 7-8 man rotation for the Big Ten teams that will finish around 7-10 in the conference standings. And Mason may struggle to do that. This team has little talent. And its not as if the young guys we're so hoping to watch are "that" good. Mason seems to have regressed some, McBrayer has shown a few spots here and there of being OK and Dorsey has had a few moments as well, but its not as if they look like they will be impact players next year. Obviously Murphy has been a lot of fun to watch and has surpassed my expectations. But I'm not sure that other programs who are poised to finish in the top half of the conference would look at McBrayer, Gilbert and Dorsey as guys who would help them next year.

There aren't many good teams in the B1G this year. Mason surely cracks the rotation for almost every team in the conference. A case could be made that he'd start at PG for Michigan State. I think a lot of teams would look at guys with McBrayer and Dorsey's pedigrees (4 stars on at least one site each, top 150 on Rivals) to help them as Sophomores. I think both have shown some good things, but clearly need to shoot it much better.

That's not to say I don't agree with your overall point...this roster is bad.

Can't see Mason starting at PG for Michigan State. Tum Tum (even though he can't shoot) and Valentine both would be better options. MSU is deep, but I do think Murphy could crack Sparty's top 8 because he rebounds and Sparty has a bit of a void at PF when Swanigan flipped to Purdue.
