know of a good hotel at a decent price in the Tempe/Scottsdale area? Thanks!

We've stayed at the Days Inn Tempe on Apache both times there. It's about a mile or so off campus, but it's a whole lot cheaper, and the light rail that opened when we were there last year has a stop right outside the hotel that takes you directly to the stadium, and then to Mill Ave. where all the bars are located. Plus, there's a delicious little Mexican food stand across the street. I recommend.

Last year my friend and I stayed at the Hyatt Place Tempe/Airport. It's a really nice hotel with big rooms, and depending on what your definition of reasonable is, not too expensive. Last night I was looking at rates from like 12/30-1/4/09 and it was on average about $115-120/night (not including tax). The rooms are nice with a LCD TV, all rooms have a fridge, couch/living room area, balcony. When we were there the outdoor pool was open as well. The hotel is about 2 miles from the stadium and 1.5 miles from the main bar strip in Tempe. There is a lightrail station about a 10 minute walk north of the hotel which is really convenient to get to downtown Tempe or campus. The hotel also has a shuttle that we used to get to the game and also to the block party on new years eve.

There are a few other cheap hotels to the east of campus but I have not stayed there before. One thing is unfortunately you'll have to rent a car in Phoenix because it's just to dang spread out if you wanted to check anything else in the city out (botanical gardens, drive to the Cardinals stadium, etc)

The Radisson Phoenix Airport North is offering a rate of $79. The hotel is just a block north of the Light Rail, which takes you right to Tempe and the Stadium.

The hotel is nery nice and has an airport shuttle, so you don't need to rent a car.

Band stayed here at the Buttes Marriott last year, and it was phenomenal. Great pool, several hot tubs in different locations, the hotel is nestled on (appropriately) a Butte so you can see positively gorgeous sunrises/sunsets with the mountains. Good dining fairly close as well.

Edit: we were there on NCAA's dime last year, so obviously not sure of the price.
