Hopefully that shot silences Westbrook Haters

I'm tired of all the hating on Westbrook. He's clutch. He singlehandedly won the Wiscy game last year and now he saves the Gophers against Penn St, a must win game. He's one of our key guys along with DJ and Ralph and we need Westbrook to have any chance to get in NCAAs.

Way to go Westy!!!
 


Westbrook isn't the best overall player IMO, but he sure can hit big shots. He's always going to have a game here and there where he puts the team on his back and win the game. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does against the Badgers this year, hopefully it will be reminiscent of last year.
 

I'm not a Westrook hater, but honestly, I thought he played a pretty poor game for the most part. However, a lot mistakes can be made up for when you hit a buzzer beater.

On a bigger level, I'm disappointed with how we closed the game (except for the last shot of course!! ;):D). But at this point, I'll take any win regardless of how it comes.
 

Westbrook is a terrible defended (as is Hoff), can't dribble, and takes bad shots, BUT he does have ice water running threw those vains and there is no one else on our team I would want taking a game winning shot.
 


Westbrook was 0-5 from 3 pt land, had 6 turnovers to only 1 assist, and that idiotic play in the corner where Penn State tied it up. Other than that, great night.

EDIT: I looked at the line wrong, guess he had 3 assists. Still not very good. But I can echo the sentiment, he's fine to have in at the end of the game when he can hit FTs and get a chance at shots to close out a game. Other than that, I'm not sold.

I wouldn't say I'm a Westbrook hater - I have always said we need a player like him on our team - like him or not, he can hit the big shots, and is usually clutch with his FT's.

With that being said, for the "haters" I don't think one shot can make you love or hate a player. It's their body of work. Today wasn't his best game, 5-12 FG's, 1-5 3PM, 5 boards (which was good), 3 assists, but 6 Turnovers.

With that being said, without his buzzer beater, I'm guessing we lose that game, as PSU had a lot of momentum going into halftime. Thank you Skinny Westbrook!

don't go dropping that name around the westbank, because the umpd can't protect you and some around there might take offense to that name.
 

i am a westbrook hater, we probably wouldnt have needed a last second shot if he could feed the post, ralph had position a bunch down low and westbrook looked at him and dribbled away
 

Gophers WIN and the bitchers prevail anyway. Disgusting.
 



These idiotic posts complaining about Westbrook will continue, unfortunately. We would have probably lost both games to Penn St. without Westbrook, giving them their only two wins in the BT.

Les just be realistic about Westbrook. He hit a huge shot at the end of the game but he played pretty bad earlier, including right before his big shot, including turnovers and missed passes. I give him credit for hitting a huge shot, but it was also a bad shot selection and he could have driven the lane or passed to sampson. Its easy to be a Monday morning QB and he hit the big shot!

MRJ, you are always correcting peoples spelling & Grammer. You forgot an "of". This does not bother me as I knew your point and I agree with it, but you don't always do it right either.
